Trusting God's Timing
Our 92nd neighbor in the past three years has moved from homeless to a place to live through our programs of accountability.
There are many challenges that individuals face when they pick up the phone and call our Connection Center. One of which was a new mother who had recently left an abusive relationship. Her journey began while living at a local recovery and transitional housing program. Through the difficult circumstances, hope was found with one conversation.
After leaving a domestic violence situation this neighbor entered Teen Challenges’ Home of Hope. She lived there for over a year while working towards rebuilding. During that time, she welcomed her twin babies. This added joy but also many new and challenging responsibilities to navigate. Sometimes it takes courage to make a leap of faith and take the next step toward healing. That’s what this neighbor did, and because of that she didn’t have to face these challenges alone.
When a Love INC case manager visited her church to share about our ministry, the presentation caught her attention. After speaking with her mentor, she decided to reach out to us. From then on, she was connected with a Love INC case manager that would begin walking alongside her providing love, support, and accountability.
Our neighbors aren’t just given resources but someone to walk with them. Relationships are built to give real and tangible support during vulnerable seasons of life. This new mom expressed how incredibly grateful she was after receiving our support. To any others going through a similar story she said, “Have faith and trust in God. He does come through. Not your timing, but His timing.”
Sometimes rebuilding takes time and patience. This neighbor’s faith helped her continue moving forward even when answers didn’t come immediately. The process was not easy but with our programs and support she persevered. While her journey is still unfolding, she now has a stronger foundation and a stable home to care for her family. Transformation doesn’t happen overnight, it happens through relationship, accountability, and God’s faithfulness.
Every neighbor’s story begins with someone willing to care and a community coming alongside them. In this case, it was the support of Teen Challenge and our programs at Love INC that led to long-term stability for this new mom.
