Re-Entering the Workforce
Sometimes moving forward means overcoming one barrier at a time.
For nearly a year, Glenn had been trying to obtain his birth certificate. Without it, he couldn’t get the identification he needed to move forward with employment and other goals. What might seem like a simple piece of paperwork had become a significant roadblock.
Glenn didn’t give up and through Love INC of Mid-Delmarva’s Case Management program, Glenn has been working with our case manager who walked alongside him as he worked to get his documents in order and take steps toward greater stability.
Glenn finally received his birth certificate. He was able to continue pursuing employment. He recently interviewed for a local job and was hired!
For Glenn, this job represents more than a paycheck. It’s a step toward independence, stability, and a new chapter in his life. He is looking forward to his new work schedule, earning an income, saving toward a place of his own, and continuing to build a future he is excited about.
For the past few years, Glenn has been living at Fishers of Men, where he has worked in exchange for a place to stay while he worked to get his documentation in order and figure out his next steps.
Glenn is also in recovery and has now been clean for more than a year and a half. He is proud of the progress he has made, and today, he is focused on what comes next.
A birth certificate. An ID. A job. A place to live. A new beginning.
These steps may sound simple, but for someone working to rebuild their life, each one can represent a significant milestone. That is why relationships matter.
Through Case Management, Love INC walks alongside neighbors as they work through the barriers standing between where they are and where they want to be. It isn't about providing a quick fix. It's about love and accountability, helping people identify their goals, overcome obstacles, and take meaningful steps toward lasting change.
Glenn’s story is still being written, but right now, he has plenty to look forward to. A new chapter is beginning and we’re grateful to be walking alongside him.
