Home for the Holidays

After facing domestic violence, addiction, and homelessness, Lisa and her family found themselves searching not just for help, but for hope. In one of the most difficult seasons of her life, Lisa turned to Love INC of Mid-Delmarva, unsure of what the next step would be, but determined to keep moving forward.

Through Love INC’s Case Management program, Lisa began meeting weekly with a Case Manager who walked alongside her, helping her set goals and take practical steps toward stability. With consistent accountability and encouragement, Lisa enrolled in financial literacy and personal development courses designed to equip individuals with tools for long-term success. Week after week, she showed up, committed to learning, growing, and striving for more for herself and her daughter.

The road to permanent housing was not quick or easy. It required perseverance, patience, and trust in the process. After finding out she would be able to move into her new home, Lisa reflected on the support she received through Love INC by stating, “Accountability, was what I needed.” That accountability, combined with compassion, resources, and community, helped Lisa remain focused even when the journey felt overwhelming.

Today, Lisa and her daughter have a home of their own. A place of safety, stability, and new beginnings. This Christmas, they are celebrating not in uncertainty, but in their HOME, a milestone that once felt out of reach.

Lisa’s story is one of many reminders of why Love INC exists, to offer more than a handout, but a hand up. Through love, accountability, and strong community partnerships, individuals like Lisa are moving from crisis to hope, from homelessness to housing, and from surviving to thriving.
