From Homeless to Housed: 68 Lives Changed

In this video, Weldon shares his story of transformation, from staying in a winter shelter to finding a place to call home.

There are moments that remind us why community matters, and this is one of them.

This season, through our Code Purple program, we witnessed something truly powerful: our 68th neighbor moving from homelessness to stable housing. Behind each number is a real story, real struggles, and real victories. One of those stories belongs to Weldon.

During the coldest months of the year, Code Purple provides more than just a warm place to sleep. It creates a space where hope can quietly begin to rebuild. Night after night, from December until now, churches, volunteers, businesses, and community partners came together to make sure our neighbors had safety, warmth, and dignity.

Weldon was one of those neighbors.

While staying at a Code Purple site, Weldon connected with our case manager, Karen. What started as a simple connection turned into something life-changing. With support, guidance, and his own determination, Weldon was able to take a major step forward; he now has a place to call home.

His story is a reminder that transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when people show up. When doors are opened. When someone is seen, known, and supported.

Code Purple is about more than shelter; it’s about creating pathways. It’s about meeting immediate needs while also helping individuals take meaningful steps toward long-term stability.

We celebrate Weldon and this milestone in his journey. And we remain hopeful as he continues working toward his future goals.

To every church that opened its doors, every volunteer who gave their time, every business that supports our mission, and every community member who made this possible, thank you. You are part of every story like Weldon’s.

You are part of the 68.

And we’re just getting started.
