Robin Robbins Love Story

“This is hard, but God has a plan”

“It’s all in God’s timing”

These are words spoken by lady named Robin.

Robin was homeless off and on for 10 years.  She tells her story here:

“My husband was abusive to myself and the kids, and in 2010 I left him.  I stayed overnight with a Christian lady I knew, then went and stayed with friends, then to a Shelter.”

Robin had a difficult time adjusting to the shelter, so after a few short stays with family and friends, she left the state and was homeless there for 4 months.

“I ended up in a Church camp homeless tent city…..  I had a boyfriend who took my money and my vehicle.  I was trying to find a place to go.  The apartment I was in didn’t work out because he took everything, so I returned to Delaware.   I came back to my old house, and it was in foreclosure.  I didn’t know what to do, and I prayed and God told me to go back to a local Community Day Center, where they helped me.   In 2012 I began staying at the Code Purple Shelter, and was connected with Love INC.  They helped me because they were very encouraging and were Christian.  God has always been there for me.  I became a Christian when I was 9 at VBS Gethsemene Church.  God has a plan and it all works out in His plan, and His time.   I was encouraged by various Christian men and women, who provided me with resources like a place to take a shower, food and clothing.  Code Purple was very encouraging, and I stayed there for several years.  I was able to even help some of the others who were there.  I always have a desire to help, and enjoyed making the coffee or passing out socks.  In January, 2020 I was able to get housing.  I am looking forward to having a house someday, where there are no stairs.  I have health problems, and the steps are hard. But I am thankful for my apartment, and for the Christian people who have helped me over the years.”
