Our case manager, Margaret, has the opportunity to build relationships with those who come to our Seaford Campus. Here is just one example:

One of our neighbors stopped by Love INC on a cold January morning for a meal. He met our case manager with a simple request, he needed some help filling out an application for housing.

He, like so many in our community are struggling to find affordable housing as wait lists are as long as 3 to 4 years! This neighbor had been working hard and saving up. But because nothing has become available, he has been homeless for the past year, living in his car. Filling out applications gave him a lot of stress due to his limited education and his fear of not filling them out properly/ being rejected. Our case manager sat down with him and helped him through the process of filling out the forms, photo copying necessary documents and listening to his story. In one meeting, this neighbors whole demeanor changed and the case manager could see his confidence increase as they tackled the work together.

With documents in hand, he left with a big smile and hopeful heart that he would find his home soon. One thing he knows for sure, he has found support at Love INC to help him get there!”
