August update

August 2021 was busy at the C.R.O.S.S. We gave out 523 bag lunches, 41 food bags, and 14 hotel bags.

We instituted a policy that people receiving lunches need to come and pick them up. People who had their lunch picked up for them in the past started coming, which afforded us a greater opportunity to serve them. We gave clients who came to lunch a devotional booklet and travel size hygiene products.

We hosted a pastors’ brunch and aided a pastor helping a vulnerable neighbor find temporary housing until acceptance at a residential program. We organized food shelves, harvested produce from our garden, supported the Distribution Center with school supply drop-off, pruned the garden, and decorated the building for Fall.

We are grateful for the donations of sandwiches and other food received from partner churches and for hygiene products and other items donated by various individuals.
